Hydrogen sulphide scavenging

Due to the HSE profile of hydrogen sulphide, reducing its content in gas and crude oil is usually a requirement imposed by local regulations. For sales gas the required specification for hydrogen sulphide is of 4-5 ppm, while for oil it is usually higher (i.e. 100 ppm in some cases).

Depending on the size of the production installation, two different strategies can be adopted to scavenge H2S:

  • regenerative systems for large installations
  • non-regenerative systems for small installations

CECA offers the chemicals used in both types of installations:

  • acid gas absorbers for regenerative units
  • liquid scavengers for non-regenerative systems (Norust® SC 5X range)
