Paraffin control and pour point improvement

Increased viscosity coupled with paraffin crystallisation at low temperature hampers the transportation of crude oil through pipelines. If cooled below a certain temperature (i.e. pour point temperature), crude oil will gel and stop flowing in the pipe.

CECA offers to the oil industry a wide range of innovative paraffin inhibitors, which:

  • prevent deposition
  • remove scale
  • improve flow
  • disperse deposits

One of the commercial specifications for oil in the market is its pour point. It is a well-known fact in oil trading that oil can be downgraded if its pour point exceeds a certain temperature. CECA offers suitable pour point depressants and treatment know-how to help maintain hydrocarbon flow however unfavourable the thermal profile (i.e. cooling) during production, transportation and storage operations.
