Paraffin control and pour point improvement
Increased viscosity coupled with paraffin crystallisation at low temperature hampers the transportation of crude oil through pipelines. If cooled below a certain temperature (i.e. pour point temperature), crude oil will gel and stop flowing in the pipe.
