Fertiliser Coating: anticaking and antidust agents.

All fertilisers (NPK, ammonium nitrates, DAP, urea, etc.) as well as hundreds of fertiliser raw materials such as potash (KCl) tend to cake to a greater or lesser degree during extended bulk storage on the production site, during long-distance transport, and mainly when moisture levels show significant variations.

When fertiliser is loaded onto ships for export for example, this tendency can cause serious problems to exporters who are faced at the point of destination with compact clumps that are impossible to handle.

Equally, when fertiliser spreading in the fields switches from a manual method to a mechanised one, the end-user cannot use caked product as this clogs up automated equipment. Now, there is a rather simple solution to this caking problem, which is to coat the fertiliser with specific anticaking agents. CECA offers its Fluidiram range of anticaking agents to fertiliser manufacturers.

These are surfactant-based formulations specifically selected on the basis of the type of fertiliser to be treated and the customer’s environmental constraints. Fluidiram can contain UV tracers that allow customers to control coating in situ using a UV lamp.

CECA makes its know-how of over 30 years readily available to its customers: from the custom-formulation of products in the laboratory, application tests (coating, anticaking and antidust, etc.), and coating trials at customers’ premises using state-of-the-art mobile equipment, right through to the industrial production of top quality products.

Looking for anticaking agents to improve your fertilisers’ performance ? look no further and try out CECA’s Fluidiram ®!
