Inhibiting the formation of crystalline deposits by compound concentrations much lower than stoichiometry levels has been known since 1930.
The initial application was the use of 1 to 10 ppm of sodium hexametaphosphate to delay the precipitation of a supersaturated solution of calcium carbonate.
Since then, polyphosphates have been used widely to prevent deposits of calcium salts.
New types of molecules have emerged more recently. CECA’s INIPOL® AD belongs to these new molecules.
