Cold bitumen mixes are used as thin wearing courses to restore the surface roughness of damaged roads. They consist of materials with a very specific particle size, bitumen emulsion, pre-wet water, cement, and, in some cases, a break control additive. Based on the type of prevailing traffic, the bitumen can be SBS, EVA, or latex modified.
CECA has its own dedicated laboratory for research and technical support staffed by engineers and technicians who specialise in this application.
We will develop cost-effective customised formulations on request and on receipt of samples of bitumen, cement and aggregate.
